Wet Monday! Does it Matter?

Hello blog followers,

Yes its a wet Monday, I still have my sore neck and have been to the doctors early this morning. The doctor just confirmed what the duty doctor said to me on the phone Friday morning, I have pulled a muscle, and I am to keep taking the pain killers.

Of course, being as I am, and trying to get fit (again!) I asked whether jogging would be good for me. She said no. 'yippee!' Of course I didn't think that, I asked when I could start again, she said I should just wait till the pain stops and just do gently exercises, i.e. swimming or cycling or cross trainer! Yes, that's right blog lovers, she mentioned the beast, Vic.2 did suggest that maybe nagging sister had in fact briefed the doctor before I got there.

So, no excuse, the cross trainer it is. And due to school holidays the beast is what is on the agenda for the next three weeks for us all!

I collected Happy neighbour, who, because it was raining, thought we may not be going out, and the she said 'I have to work for the next three Tuesdays so I wont be able to the cross trainer' I just smiled, 'Yes you will Happy, because that's where we are going now' I don't think she knew whether to be happy or sad at that thought.

When we arrived at nagging sisters house, Vic.2 was just on her last leg of her 20 minutes stint, nagging sister in all her wisdom has upped the goal posts. I did try to convince nagging sister that the doctor suggested that I should just watch the activities because of the severity of the injury I sustained. She wasn't having any of the nonsense, which leads me to believe Vic.2s hunch that she 'got' to the doctor! Vic.2 has done her twenty minutes justice. Her target for calorie burn was 156, she burnt 173.6 and traveled a distance of 8.2km

I thought I would get my torture from the beast out of the way, give myself time to recover before driving home, well its my excuse for getting it over and done with. Nagging sister was not being very lenient with me, there is no sympathy, 'The doctor says you can use a cross trainer, so you're doing the twenty minutes too' She says, not even a hint of sympathy in those cruelly spoken words.

So there I was, same program as last week, same amount of hills, same beast mocking me but an added five minutes extra! It was hard. I only did gently, I wasn't going to break any records, and as for the target calorie loss of 147, well the beast can just go eat them it self, because I knew I wouldn't do it.

But considering I am exercising with a broken neck, pulled muscles, and carrying fat which seems to be clinging on every muscle in my body, I didn't do too bad. My suggested calorie burn up was 147, I burnt up 127.5 and I 'traveled' a distance of 6.6 km. Well, not bad for someone who is severely injured!

Now is happy neighbours time, I was recovering on the couch, helping nagging sister to create a spread sheet of all our targets and distances, (thank goodness she has not got a column for weight), Vic.2 is keeping the little people happy with grapes, raisins and bottles. Ten minutes into Happy neighbours program, nagging sister looked up from the computer and noticed that Happy neighbour was actually going backwards. Vic.2 looked in an saw happy neighbour looking flushed, 'I wondered why it was harder on my legs' said Happy neighbour, 'I was just thinking to myself I don't think I will be able to do 20 mins' But by this time, me, nagging sister and Vic.2 was just falling about laughing, 'Oh yes, this is better' she says as she starts working the beast forwards, but by now we couldn't hear her, we were laughing so much, tenor ladies please!!! and make them doubles!!!

So after we got Happy Neighbour going in the right direction her target of 147 (which should have been higher, if she had remembered how old she really was!) wasn't quite reached, she actually burnt of 129.8 and traveled a distance of 6.7 km, half backwards!!! So does that mean she never actually traveled anywhere, mmmmmm???

So until next time bloggers, I shall rest up, and look forward (not) to my next stint on the beast, which is on Wednesday. I have been nagged into it by ........ that's right nagging sister.

Of course I took some pictures of the very red faced happy neighbour, (who is trying to work out a spread sheet too) and of nagging sister on the beast, please, please, enjoy!

This is Happy Neighbour, not sure it is embarrased blusing, or just the sheer hard work of walking backwards at a pace!

Nagging sister no make up, no hair brushed no where to hide! Oh yes, nagging sisters stats. distance 12.7 calorie burn 279.4, targt burn 148, time 30 minutes. Well did you expect she would let a machine beat her!!
