A Little Stroll

Hi bloggers,

As you are all probably aware by now, I work on Wednesdays looking after a little girl, so jogging is out of the question. Yes I know people jog with buggies, but they are fit, young, athletic, lifelong keep fitters, and they have the proper gear! But unfit old girls, like me, who decide (for some insane reason) to start to get fit at a 'certain age' in their lives, that is definitely a non starter (for now!).

I thought I would do some 'jigging' about in my kitchen to some of my fav sounds on the ipod, and then work out to fit guy on YouTube (who I have totally ignored this week) and that should do it for aching body today. But my middle child, mother of the stubborn one decided to invite me to her local rhythm and baby blues group in her local library so that the stubborn one can meet some local little people his own age. Notice that I emphasise the word 'local', because to me 'local' means near, close by, 'around the corner', five minute stroll.

Oh no, not for middle child's local baby groups, hers is miles away, (well it seemed miles pushing the buggy) and its a fifteen or twenty minute fairly fast paced (really fast) walking, because we were late! Thank goodnes we were going down hill.

We arrived at the local library with about two minutes to spare, grabbed a seat, thankfully there were two available, and waited for the fun and games to begin. I was absolutely glowing like a nuclear reactor, desperately fanning myself with a book, (being a library there were plenty) and trying not to look too flushed.

The singing started. Singing sweetly, lifting up the babies, lowering the babies, (this is more exercise! And the little girl weighs quite a bit now!) more singing, more actions, wibble wobble, to and fro, then the goodbye. All done and dusted in 30 minutes! 30 minutes!! I rushed down from her place, pushing a buggy, for 30 minutes singing.

I was aching, I really was, I was still hurt from the beast, in fact the aching has out done the pain in the neck, (well, this is easing off now) but the thought of going back to middle daughters flat, up hill IN THE RAIN was sending me dizzy.

So I suggested maybe we can have lunch before we set off back home. Middle daughter didn't take much persuading and we heading off in the right direction.

Lunch done, a quick shop the off back to the flat OH MY WORD, she lives that-a-way! Up hill, miles and miles up hill, and still its raining! I am complaining like mad, 'Why did you say its only a short walk, why didn't we use my car, no, don't put more shopping on the buggy, moan, moan,, nag nag"! The nag, nag bit was daughter, she must have been taking lessons off nagging sister! Nagging sister would be proud of her 'Just walk, keep your back straight, don't slouch, no we don't need to get on the bus'

By the time we got to her flat I was a wreck and we still had to get the buggy and the trike up the two flights of stairs!

Needless to say, when I cam home, I didn't put music on, I didn't look for fit guy on youtube, I made a cuppa and wrote this instead!

Sorry.......What did you want to know.......Oh, what we had for lunch, its was p....... ok?...... you didnt hear.... oh ok, it was pie and mash!, there I have said it, Hi I'm the old girl and I love Pie 'n' Mash!
